Summary
A McLarens General Aviation Adjuster reports to the Chief Operating Officer and the primary focus of the role will be the handling of General Aviation claims from loss to conclusion. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual experienced within the Aviation claims adjusting field to continue to develop their loss adjusting career within a highly experienced team spanning a global network.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive and review claim intake daily.
- Liaising with key stakeholders such as insurers, brokers, insured, and retained experts.
- Undertaking site visits to investigate and assess the cause and circumstances of the claim and the extent of damage.
- Reviewing, understanding, and advising on policy coverage.
- Producing written reports identifying the scope of damage.
- Negotiating agreements with key stakeholders to bring claims to a timely and equitable resolution.
- Identify and report claim trends, lessons learned, and risk management opportunities to Aviation stakeholders.
- Other duties as required and as instructed by Branch Manager.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent and/or A&P licenses preferred.
- Experience with general liability losses, product, contractors, and reinsurance preferred.
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and/or Pilot background.
- 5 years of claims adjusting or aviation related field experience.
- 2+ years handling and managing complex, large losses.
- Appropriate state adjuster license(s).
- National claims experience.
- Established Broker/Carrier relationships.
- Experience with commercial and residential ISO policies including manuscript interpretations.
- Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business to include familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements and claim practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritize.

- Travel to inspection sites. (regularly)
- Move about indoors and outdoors to conduct inspections. (regularly)
- Ability to position self to inspect confined spaces, ascend and descend stairwells and ladders, traverse roofs, and work atop roofs. (frequently)
- Ability to maintain balance while traversing on narrow, slippery, or sloping surfaces. (regularly)
- May exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly while moving objects. (Regularly)
- Transport objects weighing up to or exceeding 50 pounds. (regularly)
- Transport, unfold, and extend OSHA approved ladder which may exceed 50 pounds. (frequently)
- Ability to operate a laptop/computer, phone, other office productivity machinery (calculator, printer, etc.), and measuring devices. (regularly)
- Manual dexterity and coordination to extend hands and arms in various directions, using fingers in repetitive motion for keyboarding and writing. (regularly)
- Handle paperwork and files. (regularly)
