Purpose
The Forensic Accountant will prepare economic damage quantification resulting from causes of loss. The Forensic Accountant will also handle new and existing assignments. In this role, you must gain an understanding of the insured’s operations and financials in order to prepare an analysis of the insured’s economic loss. Also, the position will require you to assist Adjusters by organizing and tracking estimates and invoices relating to property damage, extra expenses, and any other costs associated with the claims process.
Key Accountabilities
• Perform targeted analysis of data under the guidance of managers.
• Review documents to identify items relevant to investigation.
• Compile and analyze facts to formulate, substantiate and/or critique financial calculations, theories,
claims, or conclusions.
• Maintain integrity of corporate information.
• Balance multiple projects and responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with various levels of management.
• Prepare and present damage analysis and forensic findings in report format.
• Analyze financial statements and transactions with precision to identify discrepancies.• Utilize cutting edge tools and techniques for asset tracing, and financial profiling.
Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting with strong understanding of legal procedures and regulatory
requirements.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Proficiency in financial analysis tools and forensic accounting software.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Strong negotiation skills required.
• Some travel is required.
Essential Physical Requirements
• Travel to inspection sites (occasionally)
• Move about indoors and outdoors to conduct inspections (occasionally)
• Ability to position self to inspect confined spaces, ascend and descend stairwells and ladders,
traverse roofs, and work atop roofs (occasionally)
• Ability to maintain balance while traversing on narrow, slippery, or sloping surfaces. (occasionally)
• Ability to operate a laptop/computer, phone, other office productivity machinery (calculator, printer,
etc.), and measuring devices. (regularly)
• Manual dexterity and coordination to extend hands and arms in various directions, using fingers in
repetitive motion for keyboarding and writing. (regularly)
• Handle paperwork and files (regularly)
