Purpose

We currently have an exciting opportunity for talented and proven Surveyors to join our Major Loss Practice team based in London / South.  Ideally candidates should be based in London or the Home Counties.

 

The opportunity:

 

Reporting to the Regional Head of Major Loss you will be working alongside our Major Loss Adjusters and responsible for managing the surveying aspects of claims, undertaking the initial visit with the Lead Adjuster and assisting handling through to conclusion.  You will also provide surveying support for all perils working alongside Major Loss Adjusters, ensuring company standards are met in relation to all technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting Major Loss Adjusters on both technical and quantum matters
  • Assist Major Loss Adjusters with reporting requirements
  • Assist Major Loss Adjusters with setting and monitoring accurate reserves
  • Completion of VAR assessments
  • Investigating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims in a professional manner
  • Liaising with insured, insurers and brokers to achieve professional and timely conclusion of claims
  • Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines in accordance with agreed timescales
  • Actively contribute towards McLarens’ business development programme.
  • Network, identify and facilitate opportunities for business growth.
  • Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required.

Experience and Qualifications

Successful candidates should ideally be professionally qualified /working towards professional qualifications and have gained significant experience in Major Loss insurance claims surveying, or in allied professions, demonstrating a focus on quality, communication, and organisational skills.

 

They will have proven capability in negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving, coupled with strong stakeholder management. An ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally is imperative.  A proven, positive reputation in the Broker and Insurer market would be advantageous.

 

Due to the geographic coverage of the role travel will be required.
