Your New Role

Located in our modern, centrally located Auckland CBD office, we are presenting an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT team.

 

You'll play a vital role in introducing an enhanced focus on DevOps tooling and practises, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our technical systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum, including networking, hosting, deployment and security of internal and external systems. All in addition to some support of end-user devices and management tooling. Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Foster strong internal and external relationships, prioritising customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Establish and monitor SLAs in collaboration with partners to ensure mutual success.
  • Provide thought leadership in systems engineering, driving innovation and best practices.
  • Develop and improve automation for provisioning and deployment of service components.
  • Maintain end-user hardware and software, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with global peers to address technical challenges and maintain a secure environment.
  • Uphold company values and standards, contributing to a positive team culture and professional development initiatives.

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

 

  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on automation, customer service and technical proficiency.
  • Expertise in DevOps tools/frameworks (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins), Linux administration, and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Exchange Online, etc.) and cloud computing providers (primarily Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with networking, security, and backup solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, Veeam, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-centric mindset.
